Heroku app maintenance and migration
Heroku runs apps on dynos from a Procfile, with Heroku Postgres and add-ons for everything else. We pick up existing Heroku apps: update the stack and dependencies, fix slow queries and failing jobs, tidy up add-ons and costs, and when it’s time, move the app and its database to Render, Railway, AWS or Google Cloud.

Should we move off Heroku?
Not automatically. If the app runs well and the bill is fine, staying is reasonable. Moving makes sense when costs climb, you need features Heroku doesn’t have, or the stack is out of date anyway.
Where would you move a Heroku app?
Render or Railway for a similar experience with less cost, AWS or Google Cloud when you need more control. We recommend one after looking at the app.
Can you move Heroku Postgres without losing data?
Yes. We test the move on a copy, compare the data, then switch during a short, agreed window.
